RENÉE NEUE

Renee Neue served as head of the art department for Hutschenreuther in the 1970s, where he perfected the art of combining saturated colors with deep earth tones in a series of statement pieces for the legacy company reflecting a more psychedelic or "pop" influenced aesthetic. Neue designed a variety of novel shapes for Hutschenreuther that featured splashy and drippy use of glazes in rich modern tones. All of Neue's designs are quite distinct, very unlike the classic Hutschenreuther designs which were primarily white porcelain with subtle decorative elements. Hutschenreuther eventually merged with Rosenthal and is now part of family of luxury companies.
